YAB. Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad
PATRON
Malaysian Institute of Planners (MIP) has honoured the Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad by appointing him as its patron at a special luncheon, on 7th November 2012 in conjunction with MIP’s 40th anniversary. Tun Dr. Mahathir is regarded as a foremost planner of the country with his visions on economic planning and strategies that have impacted the spatial planning, development and physical form of the country. His involvement in planning Putrajaya, Cyberjaya and the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) has changed our country in many ways. It was Tun Dr. Mahathir’s knowledge and experience of more than 25 years in leading this nation that had merit this recognition.
YAB. Tun Daim Zainuddin
HONORARY FELLOW
YAB. Tun Daim Zainuddin was born in 1938 in Derga, Alor Star, Kedah. He graduated with degree in Law in 1959 and subsequently continued his study in Urban Planning at the University of Berkeley, California from 1977 and graduated in 1979. He is a successful corporate and public sector fi gure holding various positions at national and international level. YAB. Tun Daim Zainuddin has been awarded Honorary Fellowship of Malaysian Institute of Planners in 1994 to commemorate his contributions to the country and advancement in town planning fi eld.
TYT Tun Pehin Sri Haji Abdul Taib Mahmud

TYT Tun Pehin Sri Haji Abdul Taib Mahmud was born in 21 May 1936. He is the Yang di-Pertua Negeri of Sarawak, in offi ce since 2014. Previously he was Chief Minister of Sarawak from 1981 to 2014. TYT Tun emphasised and endorsed town planning as part of the approach to create a better and sustainable living environment in Sarawak through physical, economic, industrial development and social integration. TYT Tun has been awarded Honorary Fellowship of Malaysian Institute of Planners in (insert year) in recognition of his contribution (physical and economic development, social integration and industrialisation in Sarawak).
YBhg. Tan Sri Dato' Seri (Dr) Hj. Abu Hassan Omar (Deceased)

YBhg. Tan Sri Dato' Seri (Dr) Hj. Abu Hassan Omar was born on 15 September 1940 in Bukit Belimbing, Kuala Selangor, Selangor. He was the 12th Menteri Besar of Selangor from 1997 to 2000. He received tertiary education at the University of Hull majoring in Area and Regional Development in 1973. YBhg. Tan Sri Abu Hassan has been awarded Honorary Fellowship of Malaysian Institute of Planners in (insert year) for his contribution towards the advancement in town planning.
YBhg. Tan Sri Ahmad Fuad Ismail

YBhg. Tan Sri Ahmad Fuad Ismail was born on 16th July 1953 in Kedah. He was the 9th Mayor of Kuala Lumpur from 2008 to 2012. Through his 5 years tenure as Mayor of Kuala Lumpur, Tan Sri Ahmad Fuad has contributed to town planning fi eld in many ways, such as the introduction of One Stop Centre (OSC) to improve the delivery process in issuance of construction permits and Kuala Lumpur City Plan to regulate and guide the development of Kuala Lumpur. In recognition of his contribution in town planning fi led, Malaysian Institute of Planners has awarded him Honorary Fellowship in (insert date).
